![]() I'm hoping that someone here at eng-tips might have some experience/insight on the topic. SW doesn't support custom hatches though we are able to create them. My fallback plan seems to be using the SW API to "sketch" the hatch onto a selected face in a drawing but ultimately I really don't find this to be a particularly attractive solution. I go to the draw menu, click on hatch, select a predefined pattern (for rigid insul I use ANSI37), select a scale that plots nicely, then pick an internal point in the area I want hatched, then click ok. Plus it has arcs which as far as I can tell are not supported in SW hatches. Bronze, Copper ANSI34 Rubber, Plastic, Electrical Insulation ANSI37 Zinc, Lead ANSI38 Magnesium. The hang up appears to be that the hatch that I'm trying to make isn't really patterned the same as the standard SW hatches. Also I've downloaded a demo version of a utility called "HatchKit" and tried playing with that but this doesn't look like it'll work for me either. I started looking at the definitions of the standard SW hatch patterns in "Sldwks.ptn" but in reading through the instructions this doesn't appear to be an option. ![]() I've been asked to look into whether or not it's possible to create the hatch for insulation (shown below in yellow).
